Strategic & Business Planning

Details

We help our clients to set their strategic goals, improve operational efficiency and drive performance while improving client, customer and member satisfaction and loyalty. We can help you create a comprehensive plan, KPIs and goals to lead your organisation to the next level of performance.

We can assist you with:

  1. Strategic Planning – a strategic plan is primarily used for implementing and managing the overall strategic direction of an existing organisation. We can assist you to:
    • Review your current strategies, and undertake SWOT and PESTEL analysis
    • Define your broad direction for the next 3-5 years. This usually includes facilitation of senior management and/or Board workshops
    • Develop an operational plan, marketing plan, financial models and budgets
    • Develop a performance management framework including KPIs and dashboard reporting
  2. Feasibility Studies – a feasibility study is a systematic study to understand whether or not a new venture is feasible. The ultimate outcome of any feasibility report is a decision – yes, go ahead; or no, go no further.
  3. Business Plan Development – a business plan follows a feasibility study. It is used to start a new business or project, obtain funding, or direct operations. We can assist you to:
    • Identify the objectives, structure, strategies, product and service offerings, target market and financial forecasts
    • Develop the financial objectives, capital structure, financial performance, position and cash flow forecasts as well as break-even analysis
    • Create new roles or re-design existing roles
    • Evaluate and review organisational structure
    • Design training programs for staff and volunteers

Work Completed

Strategic Planning:

  • Amazing South Coast Tourism Incorporated (ASCTI) – Annual Board Strategic Planning Day 2019. We worked with the Board of Directors of ASCTI to review the outcomes of their previous strategic plan, re-visit and affirm their vision and mission, and set out their strategic goals for the next 3 years (2019-2021).
  • Great Southern Regional Mountain Bike Strategy (2021) The purpose of the Regional Mountain Bike Strategy is to provide a blueprint for implementing a regional collaborative approach to mountain bike trail development in the Great Southern. It concludes that the Great Southern must develop a diversity of trail experiences which are different to existing product in Western Australia. Most importantly all trail development should be landscape appropriate and have minimal environmental and social impact. It recommends the development of a range of small to medium scale developments including a medium distance adventure trail, small gravity park, descending focused network and community cross country networks

Business Plan Development:

  • Albany Mountain Bike Club (AMTB) – Event Business Plan – We worked with the club executive to review the objectives of the 2019 Southern MTB event, outline an event vision, and prepare an action plan.
  • ASCTI – Membership Recruitment Strategy (2018). The key objective of this project was to provide the Amazing South Coast Tourism Incorporated (ASCTI) with a documented planning framework to develop a Membership Recruitment Plan and Stakeholder Engagement Plan and Communication Strategy.

Concept Planning:

  • Mt Hallowell MTB Concept Plan (2021) Mt Hallowell lies approximately 6km to the south west of the Denmark townsite in the Shire of Denmark. In 2021, GSCORE worked with the Shire to develop a Trail Concept Plan which incorporates short walking trails and mountain biking trails. GSCORE engaged Three Chillies Trails to develop the concept plan which incorporates up to 10km of single-track cross country (XC) MTB trail, and 4km of walking and shared use trails. GSCORE was responsible for establishing the governance framework; secretariat support to the Project Control Group; securing funding for concept plan development (including site assessments); RFQ process for expert consultants; contract management; and grant acquittal. GSCORE contracted expert flora, fauna and Dieback surveys, and reviewed and approved all technical reports.
  • Poikeclerup MTB Concept Plan (2021) Poikeclerup Reserve is located 22km East of Albany. In 2021, GSCORE worked with the City of Albany to develop a Trail Concept Plan to develop 20km of primarily downhill (DH) and all mountain (AM) trail styles with a combination of technical and flow. Trails of varying length will be developed including trails which maximise the available elevation range in one hit and trails which make use of the elevation range and natural features in a longer winding format. Common Ground Trails was engaged to develop the concept plan. GSCORE was responsible for establishing the governance framework; secretariat support to the Project Control Group; securing funding for concept plan development (including site assessments); RFQ process for expert consultants; contract management; and grant acquittal. GSCORE also contracted a heritage survey of the site.
