We are hiring an Outdoor Programs Coordinator

A fantastic opportunity for a motivated coordinator to develop and deliver our existing outdoor programs and explore opportunities to create new programs.

About the organisation

Outdoors Great Southern is a not-for-profit purposeful organisation established in the Great Southern in 2017. Our aim is to improve the capacity and opportunity for residents and visitors to participate in outdoor activities in the Great Southern.

Primary Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this position is to coordinate, develop and increase participation in outdoor recreation and outdoor education.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of programs over the next 12 months, including the Adult’s Adventure Network, Kid’s Adventure Club, Expedition Great Southern and the Family Hiking Program
  • Liaise with instructors, external contractors and land managers
  • Assist to market and promote programs and engage media
  • Evaluate programs for continuous improvement
  • Assist in preparation of program grant funding applications and acquittals
  • Maintain and grow a database of instructors and volunteers

 Criteria – Our ideal candidate will have:

  1. A passion for purpose driven community not-for-profit organisations.
  2. The ability to work effectively within a small dynamic and supportive team.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of the outdoor recreation and outdoor education sector, including current trends.
  4. Experience coordinating and instructing programs and courses.
  5. Effective customer service, ability to manage projects and negotiate.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  7. Ability to be flexible, think creatively and strategically to maximise the delivery of programs.
  8. Ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload, and work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Terms

  • Start ASAP
  • Contract position for a period of 12 months with the possibility of 6-month extension subject to funding
  • Status: 0.7 FTE – 3.5 days per week (days negotiable)
  • Salary $70,000 per annum pro-rata (plus compulsory superannuation) dependent on skills and experience
  • Some Work from Home flexibility
